Dive into our Pattern Play series, where students of all ages and levels have the opportunity to create, explore, and enjoy making music in a fun and engaging way. The series consists of four progressive volumes, each providing a carefully sequenced collection of musical patterns that form the building blocks of music. By working with these patterns, students will learn to improvise and compose in a wide variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and popular music. This hands-on approach fosters creativity and strengthens both musicality and theory, making it a perfect complement to traditional piano study. The books also encourage students to explore improvisation and composition in a way that’s intuitive, empowering them to develop their unique musical voice while deepening their understanding of music theory.

Pattern Play 1 introduces students to world-music, classical, and popular styles while focusing on improvisation using all white and all black keys, as well as major, minor, and blues scales, intervals, and triads.
